Tribute to Mama

terry

Terry’s musical life was impacted heavily when she was in school.

The teacher wasn’t ordinary. She was the first African American music teacher in the state of Colorado during integration.

The grace that this woman had and sharing of her culture that she made with her students helped many through troubling times.

She helped make men and women through her work and inspired her “children” beyond basic music to rise up and be the best that they could be.

They knew her as Mama.

Hear Terry’s moving story and love for her music teacher.
